12/11/2008 - Why First Priority of Sioux Falls is thankful!
Hello! It has been a little while since the last post, but be assured
that a lot is happening! Not only is a lot happening, but we as an
organization (YES - we are OFFICIAL now) have a LOT to be thankful for:
We have seen Lincoln High School students place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ for the first time.
We have seen youth pastors unannounced to us come just because a few students in their youth group asked them to.
We
have seen high school students from other high schools show up at 6
o'clock in the morning to help set up, because they heard about it from
some friends - and they desire to see God change the lives of their
friends.
We have seen God provide resources for each week through generous donors.
We have seen Lincoln High School's administration be openly grateful and willing to cooperate as a result of God's work.
We have seen God bring us new volunteers each week, people who are excited and willing to serve.
We
have seen God answer our prayers in ways we never thought possible. He
has swing wide the door at Lincoln High School, it truly is a miracle
the capacity in which we are able to serve the Lord inside a public
institution.
We have been reminded throughout this time that
God is moving and working, despite us. The staff, and our volunteers
understand that our standing before the throne of our Creator is not
because of our merit - but because of the blood shed on the cross. We
know we can't conquer the world, or even Lincoln High School. God
fights our battles, and there is nothing more worthy of our gratitude.
Our lives for the gospel,
Grant and John
